Empat kota besar berhasil meraih  penghargaan Adipura 2012 sebagai kota terbersih. Kota tersebuat adalah Malang, Manado, Yogyakarta, dan Balikpapan. Seperti diketahui, Adipura merupakan penghargaan bidang kebersihan dan pengelolaan lingkungan hidup perkotaan.

“Ini adalah kali pertama kita masuk kategori kota besar dan sudah bisa meraih Adipura sungguh menggembirakan,” kata Wali Kota Manado, Vicky Lumentut, Sabtu (2/6) sebagaimana dirilis beritamanado.com. Walikota berharap penghargaan ini bisa membuat seluruh masyarakat Manado semakin menyadari tanggungjawab  mereka untuk menjaga kebersihan.
