Masyarakat desa saat ini sudah semakin maju. Betapa tidak. Sejak pertengahan 2004 silam, masyarakat Desa Putukrejo, Kabupaten Malang, mampu melakukan swakelola air bersih melalui ‘PDAM ala masyarakat’. Hingga saat ini, total pengguna sambungan air mencapai 830 kepala keluarga atau setara dengan kurang lebih 4.055 jiwa.
